Terms
Using this site
These terms apply to emdashrights.org. They are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
The Declaration
The Em Dash Rights Declaration is a public statement of principle. Signing it records your endorsement. It is not a statute, a court order, or a petition that legally binds a school, employer, platform, or government.
You may quote the Declaration with attribution to Em Dash Rights and a link to emdashrights.org.
Your submissions
If you sign, share a story, or offer an organisational endorsement, you confirm that what you send is true to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the right to send it.
You give Em Dash Rights a non-exclusive licence to store that material, to edit stories for clarity and anonymity, and to publish what our community guidelines allow. We may decline or remove a submission.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site to harass anyone, to identify a private person against our guidelines, to submit material you know is false, or to attack or overload the service.
No professional advice
The site is information and advocacy. It is not legal, academic-integrity, employment, or immigration advice. If you need advice about a specific accusation, speak to someone qualified in your place.
Liability
The site is provided as published. We take care with the archive, but we do not warrant that every page is complete or current.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded. Where liability can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the relevant service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction, subject to rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
