Methodology
How we count
Signatories
One accepted signature is counted as one individual signatory. Hidden records remain in the ledger of support — they are removed from public lists.
Countries
Taken from the country selected during signing. A country is counted once — regardless of how many signatories it contains.
Stories
Only stories approved for the archive contribute to the published count. Submitted accounts stay private until they are reviewed.
Organisations
Only verified organisational endorsements are counted. A name entered in a form does not appear automatically.
Policy changes
Only documented institutional changes are counted. A record needs three things before it can be published — a description of the previous approach, the change, and a source or confirmation.
